SimplyHealth is the trusted healthcare partner to England Rugby and the official lead partner for the RugbySafe programme.

Working together, England Rugby and SimplyHealth will explore how to utilise their joint knowledge base to develop and expand ‘RugbySafe’ and promote physical and mental health and wellbeing in sport, as well as everyday life.

Throughout 2021 and into the future SimplyHealth will be keeping the rugby community healthy. RugbySafe is all about putting player welfare at the heart of the game, and SimplyHealth will be putting mental health and wellbeing front and centre; working with the Mental Health Foundation to provide a series of resources that promote healthy discussion, developing kinder cultures and signpost resources to expert advice. Webinars

  • Watch SimplyHealth’s first mental wellbeing webinar with Dylan Hartley and guest speaker David Beeney, aimed at age grade players here
  • A second webinar aimed at the RugbySafe club leads, adult club members, and volunteers can be found here.

We aim to encourage a culture in the rugby community where members understand and talk to those who may be struggling with mental health issues. We will focus on preventing problems developing through better identification of issues, improved and appropriate communication around the topic of mental health, and clear pathways for people who need professional support.

As rugby returns there’s never been a better time to look at how the rugby family can support each other and make a difference.

Since 1872 SimplyHealth has been helping people get healthcare through health plans, charity partnerships and by being a voice in healthcare. Today they’re delighted to be the UK’s leading provider of health plans, dental plans and pet health plans, which help individuals, families, employees and pets to get support with their health when they need it.

They don’t have shareholders which means they are totally focused on making sure no one goes without the healthcare support they need, and why SimplyHealth is passionate about being a voice in healthcare and partnering with charities to reduce health inequality. With a commitment to donate part of their pre-tax profits to charities or community projects each year SimplyHealth spreads donations across a wide range of healthcare-related charities.

Romana Abdin, SimplyHealth CEO, commented: “As businesses, we have a shared heritage – since 1871, the England Rugby Rose has been a mark of quality, success and integrity. Similarly, SimplyHealth has been helping people stay healthy since 1872. So we’re excited to be the trusted healthcare partner to England Rugby giving us the opportunity to support the RFU in making rugby a safe game to play and providing a platform for us to influence health and wellbeing.”
