England U20 seal nine-try win against Scotland U20

England U20 Men crossed the line a staggering nine times to claim a 57-13 win over Scotland U20 at Kingston Park in the third round of their 2025 Six Nations Championship.

Campbell Ridl, Kane James, Tye Raymont, Tom Burrow, George Pearson, Jack Bracken, Angus Hall and two-a-piece from Kepu Tuipulotu made up England try-scorers, topped up by eight points from Ben Coen's boot and two conversions from Josh Bellamy. Scotland's tries came from Fergus Watson and Ollie Duncan, plus a Jack Brown penalty.

England made a bright start, with Bracken and Lucas Friday both breaking the oppositions defence and putting immediate pressure on Scotland.

An early try came in just the sixth minute, as debutant Ridl’s incredible pace saw him fly past the opposition and crash over the white line. Coen’s conversion went just to the left of the posts, giving England a five-point lead.

Soon after Scotland catapulted themselves within a metre of England's try line, and after recycling the ball, a clever cross field kick to Watson saw them level the score at 5-5. But not for long, as a close range Tuipulotu try and successful Coen conversion pushed England to a 12-5 lead.

The ever-threatening Bracken gave Scotland no time to catch their breath as he turned on his speed, and a quick offload to Friday on his inside gave England another try chance but strong Scotland defence forced an untimely knock-on.

Scotland's Matthew Urwin saw yellow for a deliberate knock-on, but it was Scotland who scored next with Brown closing the gap to four points with a penalty.

England responded by turning up the intensity in attack, and finished the first half with a flurry of tries. Debutant Pearson’s rapid speed outsmarted the Scottish defence, bringing England to their attacking 22, and after a few phases, James pushed his way over the line.

The bonus point was then secured in emphatic fashion. Player of the Match Tuipulotu produced a stunning break and grubber kick, and the ball was eventually worked to Raymont, whose brute strength saw the prop force his way over the line.

Half time was approaching but a quick pick and go resulted in a second Tuipulotu try. Coen successfully converted two of the trio of tries, extending England's lead to 31-8 at the break.

Scotland started the second half strongly through Reuben Logan, but England's defence stood strong. The visitors continued to probe for a way back into the contest as Ross Wolfenden found a way down the right but Noah Cowan was unable to find a way through just metres from the line.

England then pushed further out in front, captain Burrow producing a delightful dummy to break down the blindside from a lineout and go over in the corner. Coen added the extras.

England approached the whitewash again, but impressive defence from Campbell Waugh allowed Scotland to clear and shift the game to their attacking 22.

Almost half way into the second half and England stacked up another two tries. Metres from the try line, England's quick play saw them move the ball the width of the pitch before Pearson caught the final phase, and with a powerful side step scored his first try. Bellamy added the extras.

Bracken then capped his stellar performance in attack, as he flew over the line in the corner to tick the scoreboard over 50.

With just 10 minutes left on the clock, Duncan finally broke England's scoring streak. Strong work from Wolfenden and Brown worked the space and Duncan found the gap to score.

But England would have the final say in the contest, running the ball from end to end for Aiden Ainsworth-Cave to fund the onrushing Angus Hall for the ninth and final try of the night.
