Mackenzie Carson
Gloucester Hartpury prop Mackenzie Carson first played rugby aged nine, playing for her home club in Canada all the way from junior to senior level.Having previously earned three caps for Canada, including one against England during the Autumn Internationals in 2018, Carson has made herself available to play for England under World Rugby’s birth right transfer rules which allows a capped player to switch allegiance to another country they are eligible to play for following a three-year stand-down period. She featured in Simon Middleton's squad for the 2023 TikTok Women's Six Nations and travelled to New Zealand for the inaugural WXV tournament. England won the title with victories over Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Mackenzie was part of the squad that won the 2024 Six Nations Grand Slam and the WXV1 title later that year in Canada. She has recently been named in John Mitchell's side for the 2025 Women's Six Nations.

The props prop the hooker on both sides in the front row, push against the opposition props and anchor the scrum. The loose-head prop is on the hooker’s left, his head outside the scrum when it engages, the tighthead packs down to the hooker’s right on the inside, shoring up the scrum with strength.
