Cycling for a Cause

Over the Pitch Up For Rugby weekend, on 12th September, while adhering to all local, government and RFU protocols, Barnet Elizabethans RFC waved off an intrepid team of cyclists.

They were riding in 12 relay legs, covering 180 miles, and visiting all 27 Hertfordshire rugby clubs. Setting off at 5am, they were back at the club by 7pm, by which time younger club members had put in a stint running or cycling around a route at Byng Road. Their distances were added to the accumulated total.

The aim was to raise £500 for the club’s chosen charities Noah’s Ark Hospice and Parkinson UK and at the last count they had raised nearly £6,000 via https://www.justgiving.com/team/BERFC-Tour-de-Herts

Coast to Coast

Now Old Northamptonians minis and juniors coaches are this weekend setting out on their gruelling coast to coast ride.

They’ve been in training through lockdown, intent on raising money for the club’s mini & junior section as well as for Northamptonshire & Warwickshire Air Ambulance who provide an amazing service across the region.

The 280-mile cycle ride from Holyhead to Skegness has a target of £10,000 and they hope to complete the challenge in 24 hours. They’ve already raised around £6,500 at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/ONRFCCoachesChallenge2020
