England Head North

What better way for England to put in final preparations for Japan than heading to Newcastle’s St James’ Park to play Italy, kicking off at 7:45pm on Friday September 6th.

That northern atmosphere was loved by Saracens fans as the team won their third European title in four years with victory over Leinster. The atmosphere at St James’ Park was electric and celebrating fans didn’t want to leave.

So England captain Owen Farrell will be on familiar territory when the stadium once again becomes a rugby stronghold as England take on Italy in their last Quilter International  before boarding the plane to take on the world..

With England’s Rugby World Cup squad announced, all the players that fans get to see in Newcastle will be sure to be on that flight and playing in the North of the country, rather than at Twickenham, brings a different experience for both players and supporters.

It’s a unique opportunity which will involve a team of mascots recruited from local CBRE All Schools and the local community, including via Newcastle United, the Newcastle Falcons, and the local council, who are also providing a mascot from the Italian community.

There will also be another special little mascot running out with England: Eva O’Rife who starts school in Newcastle in September.  She’s the daughter of Raymond, an RFU Injured Players Foundation client since 2003, when he was seriously injured at North of England trials, representing Northumberland county.  Raymond is now a solicitor at Newcastle Building Society and will be there with wife Georgina to watch Eva on her and England’s special day in her home town.  The IPF is the official match charity

This is an England international with a difference. An event not to be missed.

Tickets are from £15 for juniors and £25 for adults at englandrugby.com/tickets
