England take part in community events

England Men have been taking part in local events in Australia.

A number of players and staff, along with RFU president Jeff Blackett, received a traditional Welcome to Country along with an introduction to aboriginal and indigenous cultures at Kings Park, Perth.

Squad members not involved in the first Test match also took part in a community training session at the University of Western Australia, with more than 150 children from local clubs, along with some Wallabies players.

They then attended a fundraiser for Glen Ward, a 17-year-old player at Perth Irish RFC, who was recently diagnosed with leukaemia.

"It was an interesting experience and fascinating to hear about the culture of the indigenous people here and to be welcomed to the country. The dancing in particular was my favourite part," said Bevan Rodd.

"I took part in coaching the U14s and helped take them through some rugby drills and skills. It was great to see so many kids excited to be playing rugby and for the game later.

"The entire squad would like to wish Glen all the very best with his treatment."
