Five sets of brothers win for Painswick
Brothers may often play for the same rugby team but it’s not often five sets of brothers run out together for a match.
Painswick RFC’s recent top of the table win against Cheltenham 2s was certainly a family affair and, but for injury, there would have been not five but six sets of brothers taking part.
The club is one of Gloucester RFU’s oldest, with claims to be England’s oldest village rugby club having begun in 1871 and celebrating their 150th anniversary this season. These are the original Cherry & Whites, who lent Gloucester RFC their shirts in 1873.
