From Cross Channel Swim to Ride Across Britain
This time last year, Rupert Allhusen was gearing up to swim across the Channel.
Making it in 15 hours and raising enough funds for 15 defibrillators to go to community rugby clubs up and down the country via the Richmond Heavies Foundation.
Now ten members of the Foundation have cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats, aiming to raise £40,000 for another 30 defibrillators and delivering three en route.
Momentum is building to ensure all sports clubs have access to defibrillators, with some high profile cases, including Danish footballer Christian Eriksen’s cardiac arrest on the pitch during Denmark's opening Euro 2020 match with Finland in June.
The Richmond Heavies Foundation want to raise awareness as well as funds, and their recent cycle across Britain did both. You can visit their site here, or donate here.
