Irwin Mitchell Mentoring Club Launches
England Rugby is excited to announce the launch of the Irwin Mitchell Mentoring Club.
Over the coming months, the Mentoring Club will produce helpful resources, host webinars, and generate discussions around topics such as resilience, engagement, and communication.
Retaining young players has never been more important than now after an unprecedented break in grassroots game. Rugby can be a vital tool in building the skills that many young people have not been able to exercise over the past year: teamwork, leadership, communication, and social skills to name a few.
Supporting and being involved with local communities is what our Official Legal Partner, Irwin Mitchell, are passionate about. Together with their ambassadors Dylan Hartley and Sarah Hunter, this programme is being launched to ensure adults involved in organising rugby for players aged 14 to 18 are equipped with the necessary expertise to be able to support this important demographic.
The Irwin Mitchell Mentoring Club aims to:
- Deploy a high-quality, motivated mentor network for adults involved in rugby for 14 to 18-year-olds in community clubs.
- Create positive rugby experiences for 35,000 players, giving them the opportunity for both personal growth and rugby development.
- Improve the retention of 14 to 18-year-old players in the game.
- Improve transition of players from the U18 age grade game into adult rugby.
So whether you’re a coach, referee, manager, or volunteer involved in supporting 14 to 18 year olds in the game, join our community of mentors to help improve the retention and smooth the transition for age grade players into adult rugby and adult life.
