Making a Difference for Matt

Great news as 'World In Union (2020)' sung by No 1 classical crossover soprano, Joanna Forest and musically arranged by Joel Goodman, celebrating the life of Matt Ratana, has gone straight to No1 in the itunes Classical Charts as well as at one stage reaching 24 in the Official Charts.

The moving tribute to Matt is still available to download here, with all proceeds going to Matt's foundation. You can watch the film here.

Matt, who was head coach at East Grinstead RFC, has also been been named BBC Unsung Hero for the South East, which takes him through to the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Unsung Hero final on the 20 December.

The recently launched Matt Ratana Rugby Foundation has been receiving amazing support from a wide range of people. Pictured wearing the special Matt Ratana rugby shirt are sports stars and celebrities, from former Met officer and England player Martin Bayfield to tennis legend Tim Henman and from Kenny and Gabby Logan to Dame Cressida Dick.

Everyone’s wearing the shirt: DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles, Piers Morgan, Nolli Waterman and Jason Leonard have been among those putting their weight behind the Foundation’s Charity Challenge to wear the shirt.

Lots of people have already donated and requested a polo, jersey or hat as a gift. The good news is they are still available and with Christmas just around the corner junior sizes will be ready in time for the festive season - for details on sizes and orders see here.

Over the first weekend of the Matt Ratana Challenge support broke through the first £100,000 towards Matt's initiatives and gifted over 1,300 polos, jersey and hats which, in these very difficult times, through rugby will support young people in the UK, New Zealand and across the world. The aim is to use rugby to help those who need social and financial support the most.
