Grassroots teams of the month announced

October's grassroots teams of the month have been confirmed using Electronic Match Card data.

This season England Rugby will be celebrating players and teams from across the leagues using Electronic Match Card data to bring statistics from the community game to life. 

Electronic Match Card allows everything from tries and points scored to best defensive performance and kick percentage record to be viewed for every team from level three to 12. Find out more here.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH – JACK ARNOTT

Jack Arnott has been in fine form for Taunton Titans in October, having played in three of their four games scoring an impressive six tries in his 240 minutes on the pitch. This included an impressive seven minute hat-trick against Clifton in their 35-27 victory under lights, which saw them reach the summit of National League 2 South. Seven points separate the top six in the highly competitive league.

LEVEL THREE/FOUR – FYLDE RFC

Fylde win October’s Team of the Month, after securing four bonus points victories, which saw them go four points clear at the top of National 2 North as they look to push on from their top six finish last season.

Fylde began the month with a hard fought win away at Tynedale, before scoring over 40 points in each of their next three games with victories over Stourbridge, Hinckley and Chester. There have been several impressive performances for the Woodlands men in October with full back Tom Carleton and winger Tom Grimes both crossing for four tries.

Fly-half Greg Smith has also been in red hot form, contributing 65 points in October. This has helped him become the current top points scorer in the National Leagues.

November starts with a top of the table clash as they travel to second place Caldy in what is sure to be a tight encounter.

LEVEL FIVE – BOURNVILLE RFC

Bournville are the early pace setters in Midlands Premier following October’s fixtures, as they sit top of the table by six points.

Still unbeaten this season, Bournville recorded four impressive victories in October, only conceding three points in their two away games at Burton and Kettering. November will see Bournville on the road twice in their three league fixtures, travelling to Peterborough Lions and Nuneaton as well as hosting Paviors.

LEVEL SIX – DERBY RFC

Derby remain unbeaten in Midlands 1 East alongside Syston. Jonathan Joseph’s grassroots club picked up 19 league points out of a possible 20 in October scoring 165 points. November sees them travel to Peterborough and host Rugby Lions before a mouth-watering tie at Syston to round off the month.

LEVEL SEVEN – MANCHESTER RFC

Another team to have supplied one of England’s current Rugby World Cup squad in new arrival Ben Spencer, Manchester have had a blistering October after suffering their only league defeat in September to league leaders Rochdale, they have bounced back with four victories in October to now sit third in North Two West. November sees them host one of the remaining unbeaten sides Glossop.

LEVEL EIGHT – GUISBOROUGH RFC

Having lost two of their opening four fixtures in September, Guisborough have bounced back in impressive fashion in October as they have recorded four bonus point victories, gaining the maximum 20 points from those fixtures. This fine form now sees them occupy fourth place in Durham/Northumberland Division Two and only 5 points off top spot.

LEVEL 9 – 12 – SANDOWN & SHANKLIN RFC

An impressive October saw Sandown & Shanklin record another four bonus point victories, to leave them with maximum points from seven games. They only conceded an impressive 20 points across their four games, scoring 232 in the process. November sees them take on the teams either side of them in the league with a visit from Petersfield and a trip to Alton.

WOMEN'S LEVEL 2 – 3 – BLACKHEATH LADIES

Blackheath Ladies are the early pace setters in Women’s Championship South 1 this season, currently sitting top of the table by a solitary point. They have not conceded a point in their 3 league games in October, and will look to push on in November with two home games against Hove and Old Albanians alongside a trip to Bath.

WOMEN'S LEVEL 4 – 6 – HACKNEY LADIES ​​​​​​​

Hackney Ladies have been the stand out performers this season so far in Women’s NC 1 East, having got maximum points from their four league games so far. They’ve scored an impressive 270 points so far and have only conceded a single try, last time out on their visit to Stanford Le Hope Ladies. November will see them host East London Vixens in a top of the table clash.
