SOS Kit Aid Collecting Again
SOS Kit Aid is collecting unwanted clothes as clubs have been clearing out their storage cupboards in lockdown.
Stopped for two months by the COVID-19 pandemic, the team is now back on the road and keen to collect more kit to support their efforts.
Supported by World Rugby, the charity helps provide kit to children who need it most across the world.
More than 250,000 youngsters have received kit from them in 44 different countries.
Despite being grounded, they remain hopeful of hitting 40 deliveries for 2020 as part of their World Rugby Spirit of Rugby CSR project.
Founder of the charity and CEO, John Broadfoot, said: “Our kit is still badly needed by the many countries we continue to supply and three more have joined the list in Kosovo, Belarus and Macedonia.
"By the end of 2020 we will have delivered enough kit for 12,000 disadvantaged youngsters in 20 emerging countries around the world.”
As well as supporting disadvantaged youngsters, the charity also benefits the environment by stopping old clothes going to landfill.
SOS was recently rewarded for their great work, winning the Acquisition International Magazine’s ‘Award for Excellence in Emission Reduction Initiatives – 2019’.
If you or your club would like to donate quality used or unwanted rugby kit, it can be donated at soskitaid.com.
