Hundreds of girls took part in Warrior Camps in August, a series of fun, social fitness camps across England, as part of the Allianz Inner Warrior campaign to introduce or welcome back women and girls to rugby.
Allianz Premier 15s clubs Exeter, Worcester and Wasps held events as well as community clubs up and down the country.
Exeter Chiefs player and academy manager, Patricia Garcia said: “Our Warrior Camp was a great success with 94 girls turning up to give rugby a try.
“There is a strong appetite for girls rugby in the South West, and we were delighted to be able to host a Warrior Camp for local girls.
“This was a great opportunity for us to help increase the visibility of rugby for girls, and we are proud to be able to support our local clubs by helping to increase the number of girls wanting to play.
“We will be hosting another Warrior Camp before the Red Roses take on New Zealand on 31st October.”
England legend Nolli Waterman also praised the success of the Camps. “Warrior Camps are about more than just the sport, it’s about the fun, the social element, the challenge physically of just getting active.
“After a long time in lockdown, this is a perfect way to go and meet new people and make friends.”
“The start of the rugby season is a great time to get outside, get active, and have some fun.”
