Simon Middleton's side ran rampant at Franklin's Gardens, crossing the line 12 times, bringing their 2023 Six Nations tally to 22 after only two games. It is the sixth time a team has scored 10+ tries in the Championship since the start of 2020, with all six instances having been recorded by the Red Roses.
TRY SCORERS
Abby Dow scored four tries, while Jess Breach secured a hat-trick. Claudia MacDonald and captain Marlie Packer both scored doubles, while Tatyana Heard also found the whitewash. Packer's first try was a record-breaker; she became the Red Roses' top try scoring forward of all time, overtaking the record set by Gill Burns. She has now scored 37 tries on the international stage.
TOP PERFORMERS
ATTACK
Back in the 2021 Autumn Internationals, Dow made more metres than any other player with 268 across four games. In the recent fixture against Italy, she carried a massive 214 metres, bringing her 2023 tally to 311 after only two games having made 97 metres against Scotland.
Jess Breach opened England's scoring account with a score after just two minutes. She followed with a second soon after, before securing the hat-trick late in the second half.
Claudia MacDonald continues to shine in England colours. The Exeter Chiefs wing scored twice and came within centimetres of a third following a superb chip and chase effort in the second half.
DEFENCE
Marlie Packer tops the charts for tackles made in the game with 16. She has now made 31 tackles across the Red Roses' opening two games, more than any of her team mates. Tatyana Heard follows closely behind having made 14 tackles against Scotland and 13 against Italy.
