Colin McFadyean: 1943-2025
Former England and Lions centre Colin McFadyean has died aged 82.
Having started his career in Bristol, McFadyean moved to Loughborough for university before joining Moseley Rugby Club in 1965.
The following year he made his England debut and scored his first international points with a drop goal against Scotland.
His early performances for England and Moseley were impressive enough to see him rewarded with a call-up to the 1966 Lions’ Tour of Australia & New Zealand.
He played in all four Tests against the All Blacks and scored a try in the final game.
McFadyean went on to win 11 caps for England and scored four tries. He also captained his country twice during the 1968 Five Nations Championship as England drew both games.
