England U20 learn pool opponents for World Rugby U20 Championship
England U20 have been drawn in Pool A with Australia, South Africa and Scotland for the World Rugby U20 Championship 2025 in Italy.
Mark Mapletoft’s side will head to Italy as reigning champions, having beaten France 21-13 in last year’s final in Cape Town, South Africa.
Australia finished sixth last year, whereas Scotland make their return to the competition having been promoted from the U20 trophy.
South Africa will present familiar opposition, as the two teams faced each other in last year's pool stage, a game which England won thanks to a late James Isaacs try.
Also involved in the squad last year was flanker Henry Pollock, who is in line to make a potential debut as a replacement for England Senior Men against Wales.
Italy will host the 2025 edition from 29 June-19 July, with matches held in four host cities of Calvisano, Rovigo, Verona and Viadana.
Rovigo’s Stadio Maria Battaglini will host the title decider in what will be the third time that Italy has welcomed the prestigious tournament.
Italy last staged the competition in 2015, when England reached the final with the likes of Ellis Genge and Lewis Ludlam involved in the squad.
