Mitchell & Packer react to France win
Red Roses head coach John Mitchell and captain Marlie Packer react to the 38-19 win over France at Gloucester's Kingsholm Stadium.
Mitchell: "We'll always take a win, but we have some problems as well, which is good. I thought we worked through difficult periods, but we were untidy and made mistakes. We could get to the breakdown quicker. We will get better at the breakdown.
"The was a number of standout performances. Hannah Botterman was big. Zoe Aldcroft is always there. Maddie looked like a starter. The outputs were huge.
"It's really good for Lilli on debut at 20, she is maturing as a person and rugby player. She won’t forget this day for rest of her life."
Packer: "We knew it was going to be a tough encounter. We came out the blocks firing, France had a good 10 minutes within that, but we needed to make sure we stuck to our process.
"If you told me we’d put 38 points on France today I would’ve taken it.
"Next week is the world champions against the world number ones, so you don’t get much better than that. It’s going to be one not to miss, so if you haven't got a ticket yet make sure to get one."
