Reaction to the Red Roses' bonus-point win against Scotland
Hear from player of the match Claudia MacDonald, captain Zoe Aldcroft, and Marlie Packer following England's 59-7 win against Scotland in the penultimate round of the 2025 Guinness Six Nations.
MacDonald earned player of the match, scoring two tries and running 128 metres.
She said: "I think the best is yet to come, but we're proud of that performance. We will watch it back and work on it next week, but there's so much talent in this team and every time we come out we put on such a good product that we're proud of.
"I've been out of England for a little while and I am loving every second of being back. We're surrounded by so many amazing and talented rugby players, so it's a privilege to put the shirt on, but being selected as player of the match makes me a bit emotional.
"When you look at the skill we've got from one to player 40, the competition is immense. People say we need to be beaten, but we do in training all the time by pushing each other to be better."
Captain Zoe Aldcroft, who scored her first try of the tournament, said: "I thought some moments were world-class in that performance. We still know we have so much to work on which is an exciting thing. So I'm looking forward to one last week and putting effort into some areas we can improve on. I think our maul could be a lot better, and our break down as well.
"We know France are super physical, so we're expecting that next week and we know they love an offloading game so hopefully stopping them in those areas."
Marlie Packer, who also scored her first try of the tournament, said: "You can never take for granted playing in this Red Roses shirt and you have to enjoy the moment. When you try and over play things is when mistakes come in. For me, it's about going out there and enjoying it as you never know when your last game is, so play every one like it is the last.
"To get a try today was awesome, but it's about the squad performance. We didn't run too much in the week with Zoe coming off, so the captaincy got passed back over to me, and it's a moment that makes me smile inside. It means everything to me. Every player in this squad are natural leaders and we're striving to be the best all the time. So, for me, I speak when I know I need, but otherwise, it's okay, I'm enjoying where I am within the squad."
