Tom Pearson
Northampton’s Tom Pearson started playing rugby aged six years old for his local rugby club, Bromyard RFC.A product of the Gloucester academy, Tom joined London Irish in 2021, where he made 39 appearances in two years. He earned a first call-up to train with the England senior squad in 2022 and was capped in 2023 by Steve Borthwick in the side’s Rugby World Cup warm-up fixture against Wales at Twickenham, just two months following his move to Northampton Saints in June that year. Pearson was recently named in Borthwick’s squad ahead of the Guinness Men’s Six Nations 2024.

What is a Back Row?
The back row consists of two flankers and the No 8. The blind-side flanker wears six and the open-side flanker seven, both specialising in big tackles and winning possession through turnovers. They are fearless, strong and fast to the breakdown. The No 8 secures the ball at the base of the scrum, is an attacking link between forwards and backs and a real force when defending.
