Kyle Sinckler

Modelling himself on former New Zealand prop Carl Hayman helped to uplift Kyle Sinckler to international age group status and onward into the England squad for the tour of Australia in June 2016.He had already played for an England XV against Barbarians at Twickenham in June 2014 and against the Crusaders on a senior tour of New Zealand. Sinckler progressed through the Harlequins Academy after 10 years with Battersea Ironsides. He won his first England cap as a replacement against South Africa in November 2016, and his form saw him as one of four England props in the British & Irish Lions squad for New Zealand, where he was named on the bench for all three Tests. His first England start came against Ireland in the 2018 Six Nations and at the 2019 Rugby World Cup, Sinckler featured in every game as England reached the final and scored a memorable try against Australia in the quarter final. He toured with the Lions again in 2021, coming off the bench in every Test. He was recently named in Steve Borthwick’s squad for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.

Position guide
What is a Prop?

The props prop the hooker on both sides in the front row, push against the opposition props and anchor the scrum. The loose-head prop is on the hooker’s left, his head outside the scrum when it engages, the tighthead packs down to the hooker’s right on the inside, shoring up the scrum with strength.
