Joe Marler
Loose-head prop Joe Marler, renowned as one of the most reliable front-row forwards, won his first three senior England caps against South Africa during the 2012 summer tour, after previously being capped at England U18 and U20 level.By the time he made 42nd international appearance against France in March 2016 he had missed only four matches since his debut on the way to becoming a Grand Slam winner. He withdrew from the subsequent summer tour of Australia and took a break from the game before leading out England for his 50th cap in their stunning victory over Scotland in March 2017. Three months later, Joe was part of the British & Irish Lions squad for their tour of New Zealand and was a regular for the Lions in their midweek games. He featured in Steve Borthwick’s squad for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France and Guinness Men’s Six Nations 2024. Marler was recently named in Borthwick's squad for the 2024 Summer Series tour of Japan and New Zealand.

What is a Prop?
The props prop the hooker on both sides in the front row, push against the opposition props and anchor the scrum. The loose-head prop is on the hooker’s left, his head outside the scrum when it engages, the tighthead packs down to the hooker’s right on the inside, shoring up the scrum with strength.
