Detysha Harper
Salford-born Detysha Harper began her rugby journey at 15 when she went down to her local club Eccles RFC. After spells playing at No 8 and in the second row, Harper eventually found her home playing at prop where she has thrived. Her performances in the Premier 15s for Loughborough Lightning, where she studied for a psychology degree, saw her first get a call-up to the England set-up in November 2019, after previously playing for the Under 20s. A tough scrummager and hard ball-carrier, Harper would make her England debut in the 2020 Women’s Six Nations. Injury curtailed much of her 2021/22 campaign but she returned to join England’s pre-season training squad this summer.

The props prop the hooker on both sides in the front row, push against the opposition props and anchor the scrum. The loose-head prop is on the hooker’s left, his head outside the scrum when it engages, the tighthead packs down to the hooker’s right on the inside, shoring up the scrum with strength.
