Fantastic double for new girls’ cluster team

After just two seasons playing together BeccsValley U16 girls secured a Kent League and Cup double.

A cluster team bringing together girls from Beccehamians RFC and Dartford Valley RFC, they were undefeated in all their competitive county matches, won the Kent League and recently beat a strong SevenDarts team at Medway to lift the Kent Cup. All with a perfect disciplinary record.

Maisie Williams, Dartford Valley captain, was also awarded Kent U16 girls' forward of the season, presented by Red Rose star Shaunagh Brown, and said: “At the beginning of the season Beccehamians and Dartford Valley U16 girls teams came together as a cluster, no one knew how we would do, but from the start we bonded and trained hard, which is the reason we had a very successful season. I believe I have had my best season to date and feel very proud to have been awarded Kent forward of the year. I can only thank my teammates and coaches for all their support.”

Zoe McConnell, team coach, added: “What sets our U16 girls rugby team apart is not just their impressive victories on the field, but the joy and laughter they bring to every training session and game. As their coach, I've learned more from them than they have from me, and I couldn't be prouder of the team they've become.

BeccsValley U18s also won the Kent bowl, and the BeccsValley U14s won the Bowl in the Kent 7s. A great end to an enjoyable season.
