Legends are back!
Across the A316 at The Twickenham Stoop on the eve of the Guinness Six Nations England v Ireland Test, there’s a chance to watch again some favourite players of the past.
Kicking off at 7:30 and helping to make this a memorable weekend, England Legends take on Ireland Legends in a charity match supporting Restart, The RFU Injured Players Foundation and The Rugby Players Ireland Foundation.
Among the boys back in town for England are the likes of David Strettle, Delon Armitage, Tom Varndell, Ollie Smith, Paul Doran-Jones, Lee Dickson and Joe Simpson. Due to play for Ireland are captain Shane Byrne, Malcolm O’Kelly, Gordon D’Arcy, James Downey, Billy Holland, Chris Henry, Fionn Carr, Barry Everitt and Stephen Keogh.
The Rugby Legend Charity Match is in its 14th year, having already raised some £1.4 million for the rugby charities to help them make a difference.
Former England and England Sevens wing Tom Varndell is currently helping to welcome youngsters into rugby who might never have had the chance to play having become Oxford Quins Head of Community, in a partnership with Oxford Brookes University. He said: “It’s great to be running out again in a white shirt alongside players and friends and to be raising money for some amazing charities. We will go all out to win this one, but these great causes will ultimately be the winners.

Match tickets are from £15 for adults and £8 for U18s and can be purchased here.
