Red Roses making good strides - Mitchell
John Mitchell says he feels encouraged by his team's progress following their round two victory over Wales in Bristol.
Ellie Kildunne scored a brace of tries for the second week running as England continued their impressive Six Nations run with a 46-10 victory over Wales at Ashton Gate.
Maud Muir, Zoe Aldcroft, Hannah Botterman, Lark Atkin-Davies, Abby Dow and Rosie Galligan also found the line as Wales responded with a Keira Bevan try in the second half.
The win comes less than a week after the Red Roses scored eight tries against Italy in the opening round. They now sit at the top of the Guinness Women's Six Nations table heading into the first fallow week of the tournament.
"The game doesn't always go well for you in attack so you have to be good on the other side of the ball, especially defending your own goal line," said Mitchell.
“I think we’re very fortunate that we can play three different types of games based on context. As you saw today, we went to the edge early which got us into the game, there were times we went to our power game and there were times we went to our kicking game.
“I think to be a good team we have to find ways to score in different ways and we also need to make sure we can be adaptable."
The Red Roses will travel to Edinburgh in round three before returning to Twickenham Stadium to host Ireland. Tickets to the Twickenham showdown, which includes a half-time performance by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, can be found here.
