Stags and Templars at Pride World Cup

The inaugural Pride World Cup, hosted recently in Paris, saw both York Templars and London Stags at their first overseas international tournament.

The Stags made it to the final but were overcome by formidable Paris team Les Gaillards. Both the English teams had a great time, made new friends, and issued open invitations to their opponents.

Said London Stags chair, James Ledward: “We feel incredibly lucky to have been given the opportunity to take part in the tournament, meeting so many other members from the IGR community to drive inclusivity across the game. It was great to finish second and we’re super excited for the rest of the season and looking forward to Unity Cup next month and Bingham Cup in Rome next year.”

York Templars team manager, David Carr, added: “It was an incredible experience, and something that we'll never forget. Every team played exceptionally, and embraced the energy of the weekend. The Pride in Rugby Cup weekend showed rugby can be such a positive tool to bring so many different people from different life experiences together.”
