Westbury elves send soldiers some cheer

‘Twas the week before Christmas and Santa’s little helpers at Westbury RFC got a message saying that British soldiers serving in Mali are currently living in very basic conditions, with no luxuries over the festive season, and little communication with their families.

So pulling together as a rugby family, they quickly raised more than £500, secured the empty shoe boxes to pack and filled them with festive goodies  for the soldiers in Mali, so far from home.

Said Will Dennett: “A big thank you to all our players, supporters and sponsors who donated to this amazing cause. It is truly incredible what such a small club can do. We just wanted to send some Christmas joy for the soldiers, something that we all need.”
