England Rugby Untold podcast returns to mark 2014 anniversary

It’s been 10 years since the Red Roses won the World Cup.

After beating Canada 21-9 at Stade Jean-Bouin in France, England became world champions for the second time, having first lifted the trophy in 1994  in Scotland.

To mark this monumental occasion, members of the winning squad take you behind the scenes with never before heard stories surrounding the tournament in a four-episode podcast series – England Rugby Untold.

Hosted by the 2014 captain, Katy Daley-Mclean goes down memory lane with  teammates Rocky Clark, Kat Merchant, Emily Scarratt and Sarah Hunter, telling untold stories from the tournament preparations, the final and post-win celebrations.

They dive into what it was like playing for their country while maintaining full time jobs, personal sacrifices they made along the way, how they kept entertained in France and what was involved in building a team to a world class standard, including training, nutrition, staff and self-discipline.

You’ll hear about how they thought they had lost the World Cup trophy hours after the win, friendship groups within the team such as the ‘grannies’ and self-proclaimed ‘Spice Girls’, which players were the pranksters, who were roommates, and how they handled the pressure.
