Zoe's journey to 50 caps

Zoe Harrison won her 50th international cap in the Red Roses’ 38-19 win over France at Kingsholm Stadium, here's how she reached the milestone.

Zoe’s professional rugby career began during the 2016-17 season, when she started playing for Saracens and was named Players’ Player of the Season.

Having impressed at fly half, she was called into the England squad the following season and made her debut at just 19 against Canada during the autumn internationals.

Over the course of the autumn series Zoe came off the bench in all three games and scored her first international points, as well as setting up Jess Breach for her sixth try of the game with a pinpoint crossfield kick.

That same year, she continued her impressive club form and started in Saracens’ Premiership final victory over Harlequins.

She repeated the feat in 2019 as her side beat their London rivals 33-17 and Zoe bagged an 18-point haul, including two almost identical tries from excellent dummies.

The 2018-19 season was equally as successful on the international front, as the Saracens fly half played in all five games as England regained the Six Nations trophy in spectacular fashion by winning the grand slam.

During the covid-hit 2020 Six Nations, Zoe once again played in all five games for the Red Roses, coming off the bench as they sealed another grand slam under exceptional circumstances.

During the 2021 Autumn Series, she received player of the match in the Red Roses’ record 43-12 win over the Black Ferns and sealed the record by scoring a try with the final play of the match.

Just a week later Zoe helped her side break their own record, with a huge 56-15 win over the Black Ferns in which she converted every try.

She continued to shine over the series and registered 16 points across the 51-12 victory against Canada and the 89-0 win over the USA.

She starred during the following year’s Six Nations as her side swept their way to another grand slam victory.

Against Italy, she scored three conversions in an impressive 74-0 win and set up Emily Scarratt to score with a sumptuous grubber in behind the Italian defence.

In round three against Wales, she added four more conversions, as well as throwing a wonderful miss-pass to put Breach over in the corner on the way to a 58-5 victory.

Zoe once again had a role in England’s 69-0 win over Ireland thanks to her crisp pass which sent Ellie Kildunne away down the wing for her team’s ninth try, which she converted herself before also adding the extras to Lydia Thompson’s try.

To cap off a brilliant season, she registered some domestic silverware after helping Saracens to their third Premiership title in five years.

At the delayed 2021 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, Zoe started every game of the tournament and helped her side to the final, registering 48 points in the process.

A serious knee injury kept her out of the Red Roses’ successful WXV campaign, but she returned in style, scoring 19 points against Leicester Tigers in just her second game back.

During this year’s Six Nations campaign, Zoe started in the opening game against Italy, where she scored three conversions in the 0-48 win, as well as featuring against Wales and Scotland.

Against France in last week's game at Kingsholm, she replaced Holly Aitchison to help see out England’s 38-19 victory over France, their 14th consecutive win over Les Bleues.
