- The Game Management System (“GMS”) is provided by the Rugby Football Union (“RFU”) to enable players, player parents, clubs, constituent bodies, referee societies and the RFU to input, store and process certain information about you pertaining to your GMS record and the regulatory and governance functionality of the RFU. The RFU also collects data directly about your use of GMS for its own site administration purposes.
- If you are an administrator and are adding or amending data on behalf of an individual, you must make sure that they are aware of this and ensure that they have seen this notice, and the other applicable notices referenced below.
- Your club, constituent body, referee society and the RFU may all be data controllers in respect of data inputted by you (or on your behalf, for example by your parent or carer, or by an administrator) onto GMS and each of those entities will have specific data protection privacy notices in place which explain in more detail how they process your personal data.
- The RFU’s Regulatory and Governance Privacy Notice is available here. If you provide data to the RFU in different ways, the England Rugby Privacy Notice may also apply to your data, and that is available here.
- Your club, constituent body and/or referee society will also process your data in relation to your participation in rugby. They may also have a privacy notice, which will enable you to have a better understanding of what information is collected, how it is and used, shared and kept secure, and what your rights are.
- If you would like further information on how your club, constituent body and/or referee society uses your data, you should contact them directly.
- The RFU tries to meet the highest standards when collecting and using personal data. For this reason, we take any complaints we receive about the treatment of personal data very seriously. We encourage people to bring it to our attention if they think that our collection or use of data is unfair, misleading or inappropriate. We would also welcome any suggestions for improving our procedures.
