Ben Earl

Having been capped at U16, U18 and U20 level, Saracens forward Ben Earl made his senior England debut in February 2020 against Scotland in the Guinness Six Nations.Earl was a member of the U20 side that won the Grand Slam in 2017 and reached the final of the World Rugby U20 Championship in Georgia later that year, scoring a try against New Zealand in the final. Ben has previous captaincy experience have led U20s twice in the 2017 Six Nations and in 2018 throughout the Six Nations and scored tries against both Italy and Ireland. An impressive campaign, as well as a strong season with Saracens, saw Ben called up to the senior England side for the first time ahead of the tour to South Africa in 2018. Earl was called up to the senior side once again ahead of the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France and featured heavily as the squad progressed to the semi-finals of the tournament. He featured in the 2024 Guinness Men's Six Nations and was recently named in Steve Borthwick's squad for the 2024 Summer Series tour of Japan and New Zealand.

Position guide
What is a Back Row?

The back row consists of two flankers and the No 8. The blind-side flanker wears six and the open-side flanker seven, both specialising in big tackles and winning possession through turnovers. They are fearless, strong and fast to the breakdown. The No 8 secures the ball at the base of the scrum, is an attacking link between forwards and backs and a real force when defending.
