George Martin
Since moving to Leicester Tigers in 2016, George Martin’s rugby career has motored with international honours and silverware both secured in a short space of time. Martin started playing rugby as a nine-year-old at Fairfield Preparatory School in Loughborough but admits he played more football than rugby in his early years. He moved to Brooksby Melton College in 2017 to study BTEC Level Three Sports Science and it was there that he started to believe he could make it to the top in rugby. Martin has rugby in his genes, with his brother Felix having played for Loughborough Grammar School and Loughborough Rugby Club. He made his senior debut for Leicester Tigers in a cup game at Worcester which kicked off the 2019/20 season. Martin was named in Steve Borthwick’s squad for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France and joined up with the team for the Guinness Men's Six Nations 2024. He was also included in the squad for the 2025 edition of the tournament.

The second row, or locks, are usually among the biggest physical presences on a team, required to provide power in the scrum, a jumper in the lineout and a big ball-carrying option. Renowned for their physicality, work rate and mobility.
