Play Together, Stay Together

AltText

If your club is looking for new players, to retain members or to help your juniors make the jump from age-grade to adult rugby, we have a range of resources to help.

Download our Club Activation Guide to get started. You can also visit our Resources page for assets, posters and guides.

The club has a Youth Player Transition Program which supports junior players as progress through the colts into senior rugby. The colts train with the 2nd and 3rd teams as part of their player improvement process, which helps the players gel together and learn the moves and calls that the senior teams use.

After struggling for numbers, the three clubs merged together to form one team at U17s. Now, their team has enough players to fulfil their fixtures each week, are sitting at the top of their league and the players have a pathway to continue playing into adult rugby.

The club has an U23 squad comprised of colts and senior players between the ages of 17 and 23. They meet and train on a monthly basis and play in specific U23 fixtures. They have a bespoke kit which the club hope will inspire junior players to want to be a part of it when they are older.

    Social Media

We provide support for clubs on building, maintaining and improving their social media pages via our Grassroots Rugby Social Media Support Group. You can request to join with your Facebook account.

    Game on

Just because you don’t have 15 players doesn’t mean you have to cancel or postpone games. The Game On principles allow for flexibility to ensure the game goes ahead.

For more information and resources, head to our dedicated Game On page for more information.

    Age grade

A great way to reinforce your senior teams is by engaging younger players and helping them make their transition to adult rugby.

Download our Age Grade to Adult Rugby Transition Guide to get started.

    Pitch up and play

Keeping in touch with players who have gone to university or stopped playing can keep them engaged with rugby.  By tracking university players' breaks and inviting them, along with lapsed players, to club activities, you can keep them engaged in both the sport and the club.

    Refereeing

If players aren’t hitting the field anymore but still want to be involved in the game, why not suggest they try refereeing?

Check out our dedicated page for referees. There’s more information and a range of resources, including video guides and details on how to book courses.
