Coach and referee support

In the lead up to the Rugby World Cup 2025 and beyond, we are working to recruit, retain and develop coaches in the women and girls’ game.

TRAINING SUPPORT

The Impact ‘25 team supports those involved in the women and girls' game to attend a coaching and/or referee course as part of England Rugby’s commitment to support women and girls' rugby.

The support may include a voucher for the cost of an appropriate course. The application process will help determine the most appropriate course(s) based on an applicant’s role and experience. This is to ensure that everyone gets the most benefit possible from the scheme.

The Every Rose Advanced Coaching Scholarship targets talented women in coaching, working in the community game or pathway with the aspirations to complete the England Rugby Advanced Coaching Award (previously Level 3).

The Impact ‘25 programme gives participants the opportunity to opt into face-to-face mentoring and online group mentoring as part of our candidate support programme.

The England Rugby 2024/25 training course booklet contains more information about the training offer for coaches, referees and volunteers.

WOMEN IN RUGBY UNION COACHING AND REFEREEING CONFERENCES

Our Women in Rugby Union Coaching and Refereeing conferences aim to inform, engage and inspire female coaches, match officials and mentors. It doesn’t matter if you are an international coach or if you are yet to sign up to your first coaching or refereeing course, everyone will come away with something new to think about and goals to achieve for.

The sessions feature high-profile coaches and referees, who encourage attendees to explore the opportunities the 2025 Rugby World Cup provides.

We encourage attendees to use conference to make connections with those in your field and learn tips and tricks used in different areas of the country.

For a taste of what the conference is like, look at the 2024 conference brochure.
