Work within the Game Leadership area is supported by the Inclusive Leadership Delivery Group. Formed in April 2024, the group is an evolution of the previous RFU Council Inclusion & Diversity Implementation Working Group. Chaired by co-opted Council Member, Matt Webb, the group have three key focus areas across the Community Game -

  • Sustainability - ensuring a strong pipeline of leaders from diverse backgrounds across the game
  • Representation - giving everyone an opportunity to be involved and have leaders to look up to that look like them
  • Game Support - providing tools and resources to support leaders, clubs and CBs across Inclusion & Diversity

The Delivery Group will also continue to build on the strong foundation work of the previous group to build an inclusive and sustainable game through skilled and diverse leadership. Reporting directly to the RFU Council and the RFU Inclusion & Diversity Team, the group is made up of experienced volunteers recruited from across England to represent the game. Profiles of group members can be found here.

An independent Inclusion & Diversity Advisory Group has also been established. The group will provide insights to shape and adapt plans across the four key work areas, as well as challenge the RFU on its progress in delivering on its diversity and inclusion goals.
