Regulation 11 – The Season

Adult

11.1 In adult rugby the RFU Competition Season (during which all RFU Competitions, merit tables and local leagues must be played with the exception of representative rugby, play-offs and 7-a-side or similar competitions) shall be:
- Season 2024-25 will run from Saturday 7 September 2024 until Monday 19 May 2025 save that in respect of:
  - a. The Premiership, the Season will run until 14 June 2025 (unless otherwise notified to the Clubs);
  - b. The Championship, the Season will run until 16 June 2025 (unless otherwise notified to the Clubs); and
  - c. Premiership Women’s Rugby, the Season will run until 15 March 2025 (unless otherwise notified to the Clubs).
- Season 2025-26 will run from Saturday 6 September 2025 until Monday 18 May 2026 save that in respect of:
  - a. The Premiership, the Season will run until no later than the end of June (unless otherwise notified to the Clubs);
  - b. The Championship (or such successor competition as the RFU may notify to Clubs), the Season will run until 6 June 2026 (unless otherwise notified to the Clubs); and
  - c. Premiership Women’s Rugby, the Season will run until 27 June 2026 (unless otherwise notified to the Clubs).
11.2 In adult rugby, non-RFU Competition matches can be played at any time during the year.

11.3 In Age Grade rugby the Season shall be:
- Season 2024-25 will run from Saturday 7 September 2024 until Monday 5 May 2025.
11.4 Age Grade rugby activity must be played in accordance with RFU Regulation 15.

11.5 If the RFU Board of Directors consider that it is in the best interests of the game of rugby union in England (for example as a result of governmental health guidance), it may require that rugby activity, or parts of rugby activity, must cease in England or any part of it.
