Planning is a well-established process within any size of business including sports clubs.  It enables businesses to take a strategic review of their current status as well as build a plan for future development and growth, allowing them to manage the ever-changing demands around them.

Many rugby clubs don't have a plan, however in a changing landscape without planning for the future, major hurdles will appear, seemingly from nowhere, that will affect the club’s survival and fundamentally the enjoyment of the game for many.

NOW think about whether your rugby club has a plan in place.

If YES, have you seen it? And do you understand your role in achieving it?

If NO, it is worth reflecting on ways to encourage your club to develop a plan or engage people with the plan further.
